The Town of Woodstock will celebrate Culture Days from September 26-27 in partnership with the LP Fisher Public Library & Connell House.
Elementary Students from Grade K-5 are asked to participate in a drawing contest with the theme “What Does the Woodstock Library Mean to Me” There are two age categories for prizes: Kindergarten-Grade 2 and Grade 3-Grade 5. One winner from each category will be chosen at random from all the entries that are received. Each winner will receive a $25 gift card. All drawings will be displayed in the children’s department of the library. To be eligible for the prizes, entries must be submitted TO THE LIBRARY (679 Main St) no later than Wednesday, September 24th. The draw will take place on Saturday, September 27th and the winners will be contacted shortly afterward, so be sure to include your phone number. Also, Susanne Hansen will be at Connell House on Friday, September 26th, from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm working on a piece of art and answer any questions. There will be on display a variety of Susanne’s original pieces in the John Lee Room. The title of the exhibit is Woodstock Historic Heritage Buildings. The exhibit will to September 30. Tuesday to Friday (10:00 am to 4:30 pm).
Some of the original paintings include the Woodstock Baptist Church, Old Carleton County Court House, L.P. Fisher Memorial School, L.P. Fisher Vocational School, L.P. Fisher Memorial Hospital, Canadian Pacific Railway Station, Woodstock Provincial Jail, St. Luke’s Anglican Church, Carlisle Hotel and many more! Approximately 21 paintings will be on display.
